Images!

I've set up an Images tab in the top right, so you can view the galleries that have been set up so far.
If you want a specific gallery set up, just PM me and I'll create it for you, however it must be ARC-related.
To add images, click "create content" on the left sidebar, then "image", and follow it from there.

There is now also a weekly calendar stating the time and place for Gaming Nights and Weeklies.

Bake Sale

A quick reminder to everyone that the ARC will be hosting a Bake Sale this Wednesday in the south AQ (the side with C9000 and other large lecture halls). If you're contributing, please be sure to have everything ready by 10:20am when we'll be setting up. If not, please swing by and support us, and be sure to let others know!

Halloween Party

2009-10-29 6:30 pm

Here's some incentive to help you trudge through those soul-crushing mid-terms and papers: the ARC Halloween Party will be taking place on Thursday, October 29! Things will start rolling in the Atrium Cafeteria (in the Maggie Benston Centre), at 6:30pm following our Anime Weeklies!

Karaoke Night

2009-10-15 8:30 pm

Karaoke will be taking place this coming Thursday at 8:30pm after weeklies at Silver Music Box Karaoke near Lougheed Station! As usual I recommend attending weeklies so we can arrive as a group.

Please note: while turnouts for our weekly events have generally been good this semester, they have tended to be unpredictable, with most invitations remaining up in the air until the day of the event. For karaoke, I NEED to book the rooms beforehand, and therefore need a fairly clear idea on exactly how many people are able to attend. Please give a definitive answer as soon as possible!

Facebook page for the event: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=174920808687

Also note that for anime weeklies this week, we will be screening the first few episodes of AKAGI. In case you aren't familiar with the show, it follows the titular character into the grisly world of HARDCORE UNDERGROUND MAHJONG! Yes, you heard that right, and it's even more amazing than it sounds. Please be sure to stop by if you want to discover the real reason mahjong is so popular in this club.

Just to clarify

There is NO video gaming night taking place on October 14. The Forum post that had recently been resurrected was from last year.

Bowling Night

2009-10-08 8:30 pm

On Thursday night, we will be going BOWLING after weeklies! Lanes are booked at Revs Bowling Centre (which is right off of Holdom SkyTrain Station) for 8:30pm. Price is $15 for three games + shoes. Because this is a group booking, it has to be handled in one payment, meaning you can't use debit or credit. Please bring $15 IN CASH if you wish to attend.

Please also note that before we head out bowling, we will be screening the first six episodes of DETROIT METAL CITY at weeklies! If you haven't seen this series, I strongly recommend swinging by AQ3159 and checking it out. We screened the series last year and the reception was amazing. Definitely one of the most popular series' we've shown in years!

THE ARC IS SHOWING TROLL 2?

2009-10-01 5:45 pm

The ARC's highly anticipated exclusive screening of 1989 horror masterpiece Troll 2 will be taking place on October 1, 2009 beginning at 5:30pm in AQ3159 at SFU, following the regular programs in our anime weeklies. If you are unfamiliar with the brilliance of this film, this YouTube video should answer all of your questions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyophYBP_w4

This is a PUBLIC screening and is therefore open to EVERBODY. Be sure to tell everyone you know who might be interested! It will be followed by a delicious, AFFORDABLE dinner at White Spot near Lougheed SkyTrain Station.

And before you ask, no, you don't need to see Troll 1. Facebook page can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/event.php?eid=147679956011&index=1

First Cosplay Meeting

2009-09-28 4:30 pm

Did you get your e-mail?

Thanks to everyone who came to our Gaming Icebreaker Event last night! I apologize for the insane heat early on in the night, and hope it didn't give anyone a negative perception of our events. If it's any consolation, we won't be having any more major events in those conference rooms this semester!

If you signed up but didn't receive the e-mail that was sent out this morning, please inform us on the forums or at
