SFU Altered Reality Club

First off, thanks to everyone who showed up and donated money at the weeklies last semester. Because of that, it looks like the club is floating again! You guys are super. I'm certain that everyone is pretty much done with exams and whatnot at this point. With that in mind, we are interested in trying to throw together a nice, big ARC event to mark both the end of this semester and the beginning of the next one with as many of our existing members as possible. So, I'd like to know exactly how many people would be committed to participating in something like this.

Just a reminder that weeklies WILL be continuing this week. Because of the club's current situation, we are going to request that members bring a $2-3 donation if they do attend. Otherwise, we may not be able to continue weeklies for the semester.

Please remember that the weeklies do cost the club money to put on, and we may not be able to keep it going if not enough people are showing up!

Just letting you all know that we will be holding our semester meeting tomorrow at 3:30pm in the Rotunda. The weeklies WILL be on right after, and will be held In AQ 9201 (just like they were supposed to last week) from 4:30pm-9:00pm. Be sure to stop by because we're showing some great stuff!

Anime Weeklies begin tomorrow Jan 17, 2007 in Room AQ 9201! I will be announcing the rooms for the rest of the semester soon, but as for now this is what we got. Showing will be Yakitate Japan, Mahoushoujo Tai, Akagi and more so come on down and see. We will also be signing up members for this semester so make sure to bring 2 bucks.

Just putting out a notice to request assistance for Clubs Days tomorrow Jan 16 and on Wednesday Jan 17th in the North AQ. Due to limited availability, we like last year at this time are on the waiting list for a table. What this means is that I need someone to go to the SFSS table and sign us up for any possible tables that become available due to people not showing up. If someone could please show up at 10 am and do this it would be much appreciated as we need a table to get members to sign up. This would also require hanging around to obtain that table.

Right now there is the big byelection going on up at the school which I would like to bring to the club's attention. As i stated on an earlier post, the club supported the quick and speedy resumption of the SFSS as a working body, but also as an operating one. Well the election is a key component to this. So far however, there has not been much ballots cast so more than ever every vote counts. I would like to suggest that everyone takes the time to choose a candidate to best suit their needs while they are up there for exams and whatnot. You can even request an email ballot through

if you are feeling good and lazy like I did when I sent in mine for the Orange and Pink persuasion.
