I agree with Selvanic xD You should definitely do something like that.
My friend and I actually emailed Jesse about wanting to start a more prominent Cosplay department of ARC, because we wanted to know who at SFU cosplays (and loves doing it).
We're also fairly experienced seamstresses/cosplayers, so it'd be nice to meet you and collaborate.
So ya ~ We'll come if it doesn't conflict with our schedule ~^-^~
Yeah. I just joined this semester.
And for the longest time I've made my own costumes, but they've never come out just as well as I'd have liked.
This year, I caved and purchased one online. And now that I know what that costs, I would REALLY like to improve my sewing.
And, as Aki-chan said, seeing everyone else who does it would be awesome. I've come from a town where cosplaying was...frowned upon to be nice about it.
Yeah, that is why most of us are discussing getting a group cosplay ready before then.
As for meetup scheduling...
Wednsday I'm available after 12:30. Thursday is worse, but I can make it from 11:30-12:30.
Do you think we could make the meeting for this week? I wouldn't mind getting started on this thing n_n.
Well, finally got my computer to run Opera so I can use these forums :O, Wednesday at 12:30 doesn't work great for me but I can miss 20 mins of a lab without hurting anything. As far as cos experience I can sew verily well but I definitely would love to go to a workshop. especially since having to burn all my recent cos' was horrible :(. Hopefully we can work out our halloween cos so we can get started on it. There's some good thrift stores around here but they tend to loose all the good stuff come the start of October. See ya Wednesday!

I've discussed with Jesse the possibility of hosting a cosplay workshop and he said to post on the forum and see what everyone thinks.
Here's a little about me. I've done quite a few costumes, all of which I started from drawing the pattern to sewing the fabrics together. I know enough about designing patterns, choosing fabrics, sewing, and one of the most important part, posing for photos.
The workshop will most likely involve powperpoint presentation and have the audience come up and practice posing.
If enough people are interested, then I'll see about actualizing this cosplay workshop.
