TWO new spots have opened up in the 4th edition campaign running in ARC this spring!
I've decided that I should challenge myself in terms of DMing and I'm willing to take a party of 6 players (that's the absolute maximum) cruising through the Scales of War adventure path published by Wizards of the Coast. What this means is the former permanent party of 4 (with guest stars here and there) may, and hopefully will expand. I'd like to introduce new players to the system, and explore new options and combos that my players haven't seen yet.
So far, the PCs have completed the first adventure, Rescue at Rivenroar. It took us four sessions (more like three and a half, since one session was cut short due to intruders taking over the Rotunda :P) and lots of dungeon crawling, but the party, now named CRA (abbreviation to something they haven't decided yet), is eager for more.
The next adventure, title as yet unknown (don't look it up if you didn't already know), is slated to start on Sunday, the 7th of February, at 11h30 AM in the Rotunda. Adventurers who are interested, kindly post in this thread indicating your interest and a character concept you would like to play (race/class/style if you know the system, a vague idea is okay if you're unfamiliar with it). To help diversify the party, I would like to ask any applicants to refrain from choosing the following class builds (the same class but with a different build is very welcome):
Primal Guardian Druid (from PHB II)
Bravura Presence Warlord (from Martial Power)
Archery Ranger (from PHB)
Strength-Focused Paladin with Lay on Hands (PHB)
After I've confirmed your interest, please make a level 3 character before next Sunday with the following guidelines:
- The feats Weapon Expertise, Implement Expertise and Focused Expertise are unnecessary for this campaign. The bonuses from those feats will be automatically included as you level up.
- Magic weapons and armour are not strictly necessary either, as their enhancement bonuses are also automatically granted.
- Any and all sources are allowed (even Dragon Magazine). Be advised that I am well aware of most of the prominently overpowered combos in 4e, and I'll kindly ask any players to refrain from pulling a fast one on me. It's much better to feel like you contributed meaningfully to the team than to trivialize your teammates :P
In terms of magic items, to keep you up to date, your character will start out with:
- 1 Magic Item of level 4 or lower
- 1 Magic Item of level 3 or lower
- 520 gold pieces to spend on other magic items of interest
- Mundane equipment out the wazoo (but player discretion is advised)
- This is different from the DMG starting guidelines, since following that book would mean that the new players will start out with more magic items that the current PCs, which is a situation I would like to avoid. Please be understanding =)
That's about it, folks! I look forward to seeing the kind of interest that the previous thread sparked a while back. I have two players new to 4e in my campaign at the moment and they are enjoying themselves immensely. I hope that I can help provide the same kind of fun to those who decide to apply here. Thank you for your time, kupo!

I actually realized Sundays won't be that great for me, I'm really sorry for tying up a spot if I did. Hopefully you can find some people, good luck.
What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets...
